Dear Patron,

With the onset of Covid-19, we face a dramatically changed landscape this season that severely limits our ability to ‘perform’ as we had planned. We regret to announce the cancellation of four productions: Blue & Pink, The Nutcracker, Alice (in wonderland), and Masters and Moderns.

But rather than stand back passively until the current crisis is over, we resolve to make the most of this time.

The new artistic vision of the 2020/21 season titled OBT MOVES, is not “holding on” or “standing by”, but to reimagine it all as OBT moves out of traditional theaters and mode of performance, to locations throughout Portland offering rare behind-the-scenes access revealing what ballet is, and what it can be. In addition to a newly planned season of in-person and digital performances, OBT MOVES will feature a range of public activities including pop up appearances, demonstrations, and classes presented by OBT company dancers, students, and teaching artists.

This will be OBT like you’ve never seen it before. You’ll be a part of intimate, raw, and momentous performances. You’ll keep the arts alive at a time when you need them the most.

And that’s why—without fear, doubt, or hesitation—we present Oregon Ballet Theatre’s new 2020/21 season. A season devoted to renewal and to the future. A season that doesn’t just dance with change, but is change itself.

Say “yes” to strength, creativity, and passion. Say “yes” to this dance!

The OBT MOVES 2020/21 season will unfold in Three Acts. Each Act offers a mix of in-person and digital experiences which you can combine in our All Access Pass. Or select our Digital Access Pass to create a season that feels safe for you.

Note that we will move through each Act in step with the latest health and safety protocols which will determine how we scale back or scale up this artistic vision.
