Oregon Ballet Theatre's Apprentice Program is for young dancers of outstanding ability, who wish to develop their skills in pursuit of a professional career in ballet.
Apprentices take company class every day, along with school classes as determined by the artistic director. Apprentices perform and tour with the professional company; they receive a weekly stipend, pointe shoes, as well as per diem and hotel for performances outside the Portland area.
OBT apprentices have gone on to dance with nearly every major company in the United States. Several current company members are former OBT apprentices.
