LIVE AUDITIONSCLICK HERE for information about the 2012/2013 Audition Tour Prospective students, age 7 and above, are required to attend an audition in order to be considered for enrollment. Currently enrolled SOBT students do not need to audition. A live audition is preferable to a video audition for admittance into the program. All auditionees must provide a small, simple headshot. Those women with pointe experience and men over the age of 14 years must also provide a brief résumé and a first arabesque photograph. Applicants must pay a $20 audition fee (cash only, please). DRESS CODE: sleeveless leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers, pointe shoes for those with pointe experience. No warm-up clothes are allowed over leotard and tights during the audition. No leg warmers or shrugs. Hair should be in a bun or off of the face for those with short hair. No nail polish or jewelry. PLEASE NOTE: Because the auditions occur at the end of our last day of the summer intensive, those auditioning should be dropped off at the front door (southwest door by the box office) and proceed to the registration table in the lobby. Parents/family/friends will be asked to leave the building during the audition and may pick their child up at 4:00pm. Parking in the OBT parking lot is first come, first served, except for spaces 17, 18 and 19. NO OBSERVATION ALLOWED.VIDEO AUDITIONSVideos will only be accepted from students living more than 150 miles outside the Portland Metro area. Submissions should be no longer than 10 minutes and must include barre and center. Intermediate students must show pointe work at the end of center with relevés in first position and échappés in second position, en pointe. Advanced students should show the entire audition en pointe. Please include the noted photographs and résumé as per the live audition instructions, and include the audition fee in the amount of US $20. Video Requirements: Submissions should be no longer than 10 minutes and must include barre and center.
