GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Social Media & Marketing Manager is responsible for proactively maintaining the brands of Oregon Ballet Theatre and Oregon Ballet Theatre School across all relevant media channels, managing internal cross-departmental relations and external public social media.Additionally, the Marketing Department at OBT supports all other departments within the organization. These include Artistic, Box Office, Development, Community Outreach and the OBT School. This role will act as a liaison between each department and the marketing team to ensure that social media and marketing needs are met.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media- Identify internal stories to develop and share on current and future social media channels; facilitate posting, engagement, comments and sharing; expectation is 2-3 posts per day per OBT brand; ensure contractual requirements are honored and branding is consistent.
- Lead project management of social media posts and promotions, develop content posting strategy to increase single ticket and subscription sales and own social media content calendar; manage multi-department “social post request” checklist to ensure that social media requests are executed seamlessly and in a timely manner.
- Nurture social media partnerships with other fine arts organizations, work to trade exposure and grow awareness; grow influencer network.
- Manage online reputation and grow positive reviews on Social, Google and Yelp; Respond to comments on social media as well as monitor comments and take actions as necessary to maintain OBT brand.
- Develop promotions that engage and grow followers/fans and manage social media partnership deliverables (ticket giveaways, partnership requests on Instagram, etc.)
- Maximize social media assets regarding tracking, targeting, ad performance and reporting.
- Act as liaison to designated company dancer(s)/social media content provider(s)
- Roll out brand updates on all social media as needed.
- Expand social media presence (currently active on Instagram and Facebook only)
- Contribute to fulfilling marketing department content needs with visual design (Canva)
- Work with photographers and key internal stakeholders to review, select, and gain approval on photography for promotional use, in accordance with contract and union requirements, including accurately crediting featured talent and photographer.
- Own placing final photography orders, labeling photographs, organizing photography and video assets in Marketing Drive, loading videos on YouTube, and loading photos on Flickr; utilize labels, tags, and keywords; maintain Vimeo account.
- Shoot and edit casual storytelling video for social media content (reels, etc.); take photos for social media content (OBT provided iPhone)
- Attend performances, events and rehearsals to capture content (photos, videos, quotes, etc.)
- Project manage all website updates, coordinate with internal stakeholders and outsourced UI/UX and Designers
- Review website analytics to inform marketing strategies.
- Act as liaison with digital marketing agency to install tracking pixels as needed.
- Assist with website content refresh (2024-2025 project)
- Work with Marketing Director and Marketing Manager to plan, maintain, and update annual media plan schedule ensuring that all projects are completed, approved, and delivered in a timely manner.
- Manage Google Grant and Meta Advertising budgets.
- Manage ad trafficking and delivery of all content for every advertisement placed by OBT (digital, print, outdoor, TV, radio, etc.)
- Support the Marketing Director with identifying, pitching, and maintaining marketing partnerships.
- Provide support to Marketing and Development teams for sponsorship and donor proposals and decks.
- Work with media partners (TV, Radio, Print, etc.) to fulfill trade promotional marketing partnerships; facilitate asset requests from media for earned media.
- Provide support to Marketing, Development and Executive team on donor/board member gifts, acknowledgements and special touches as needed.
- Provide requested photos, videos, quotes, etc. as needed to fulfill media requests (leveraging and executing earned media)
- Support and maintain organization system for all creative assets.
- Lead the Project Management of Marketing Team Deliverables (Asana)
- Represent OBT at Marketing Kiosk during performances; help with setup and tear down as needed.
- Contribute to video and photo shoots (assist project lead with pre-and post-planning, and on-site)
- Act as lead on Asana integration and staff training/adoption.
- Work with vendors to execute deliverables for various media.
- Proactively seek trade opportunities with other fine arts organizations (playbill, program, website, social, email, etc.)
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Associate degree or equivalent marketing experience, minimum 2 years of experience in marketing field,
- Demonstrated experience and strong working knowledge of Social Media channels,
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management Software (Asana, Basecamp, Clickup, etc.), video editing tools, social media dashboards, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Business,
- Proficiency with other software databases and/or systems as required,
- Goal-oriented, adaptable to change,
- Works well with minimal supervision, a self-starter,
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills,
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy,
- Ability to organize information and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

This job operates in a shared professional workspace in our Bancroft Offices which includes rehearsal studios, as well as in large public theaters during seasonal performances.WORK SCHEDULE
Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. or as scheduled by the Director of Marketing & Communications. The position may require occasional evening and weekend work. Hybrid in office and remote work is allowed. This position occasionally requires extended hours and weekend work in the theater locations.TRAVEL
Travel is minimal and is local (between OBT office, Keller Auditorium, and Newmark Theatre).COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This salaried position starts at $52,000 and is provided full benefits, including: employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; and 25 days off annually (15 days PTO and 10 holidays).
