Zuzu Metzler grew up in Camas, Washington. She trained with OBT School starting in 2008, and was awarded the Elena Carter Memorial Scholarship in 2015. Zuzu spent summers at Pacific Northwest Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, the School of American Ballet, and Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell. She joined OBT2 in 2017, became an OBT apprentice in 2018 and was promoted to company artist in 2020.
Favorite Roles
Her favorite performances and roles include Christopher Stowell’s Swan Lake Pas de Trois, Princess in Yuri Possokov’s Firebird, Yin Yue’s Just Above the Surface, and both Sugarplum and Dewdrop in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®. She has also enjoyed dancing Winter Fairy in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella.
Outside of Dance
Zuzu likes going dancing and seeing live music, practicing yoga, and hanging out with her kitten.
