Ben Youngstone grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where he began dancing through Richmond Ballet’s Minds In Motion outreach program. After completing his training at the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory, he went on to perform with numerous dance companies across the country, most recently spending 4 years onstage with Oregon Ballet Theatre. He has been privileged to perform featured roles in works by choreographers such as Bobbi Jene Smith & Or Schraiber, Dani Rowe, Trey McIntyre, Yin Yue, and Christopher Bruce. In addition to this, Ben has choreographed work for Ten Tiny Dances, OBT II, Wonderbound, Sacramento Ballet, Symbiosis Arts, and Leon Gallery in Denver. He has performed at the Vail Dance Festival and Jacob’s Pillow and is currently studying to complete a degree in Agricultural Science from Oregon State University. Ben has taught alongside OBT’s outreach team in summer schools for multiple years but this is his first year joining as a resident teaching artist.
