In an ongoing partnership with Work for Art (a program of the Regional Arts & Culture Council), OBT was recently engaged in Work for Art’s presentation during the kick-off of Burgerville’s annual workplace giving campaign. OBT’s Director of Education Outreach, Kasandra Gruener, and three OBT apprentices provided Burgerville staff with an up-close-and-personal peek into the world of ballet. OBT’s interactive performance was part of Work for Art’s Artist in the Workplace program, which brings artists from their funded arts and culture groups into workplaces to engage and inspire employees during their giving campaigns.

Following a presentation about how Work for Art’s grant funds benefit OBT and the community we serve, Ms. Gruener got the audience up and moving.

Though some may have been apprehensive at first, all were enthusiastic as they were treated to a pas de deux demonstration by apprentices Katherine Monogue and Ethan Schweitzer-Gaslin.

Following the demonstration, a brave Burgerville volunteer experienced what it’s like to be a partner, to the rousing support of his peers.

The campaign kick-off event was a clear success, as can be seen in the employees’ beaming smiles.
