RESPONSIBLITIES

Oregon Ballet Theatre seeks a driven and detail orientated person to serve as Draper in OBT’s Costume Shop. The position is a total of 600 hours of work between February 1, 2023, and June 2, 2023, with some flexible nights and weekends and will have assigned work weeks throughout the above dates. The successful candidate will collaborate with Costume Designer and Costume Shop Manager to execute rendered designs; draft and/or drape respective costume pieces; direct costume shop staff on accurate costume construction; perform/supervise cutting of fabric from patterns; assist with costume fittings; have a basic knowledge of dye techniques; attend rehearsals and performances to assist with alterations and various other duties in maintaining a costume department.


QUALIFICATIONS

We seek candidates with a minimum three to five years of experience or formal training in design and construction of theatrical costumes and who can work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Successful candidates will understand how movement from dance relates to theatrical costume constructs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment are a must. Additional qualifications are listed in the full job description, linked below.

Compensation

This is an hourly position paying $25.00 per hour, working February 1, 2023, through June 2, 2023.
