SYNOPSIS

Our annual sojourn to the cozy confines of Portland’s Newmark Theatre puts you up close and personal with three works that forge a strong sense of connection between artists and audience members. Nicolo Fonte’s sultry Left Unsaid creates a series of sinewy patterns shaped by three couples on a dusky stage. Its counterpoint is Trey McIntyre’s Speak, a bold and sassy hip-hop showcase created for OBT in 1998 and recently featured as an excerpt on our 20th-Anniversary program. We perform it here in its entirety for the first time in almost a decade. Rounding things out is Christopher Stowell’s Eyes On You. Always a hit, this madcap Cole Porter frolic through the zany world of Hollywood musicals and early Broadway is sure to send you home with a song on your lips and a rakish tilt to your hat.
