SCHOLARSHIPS

SOBT offers both merit and need-based scholarships. These scholarships are granted at the discretion of the School Director as a reward for excellence and as an encouragement of potential. Merit scholarships are based solely on a student’s talent, technical progression, work ethic, and commitment to training. Need-based scholarships are partially based on the student attributes listed above and partially based on the student’s family’s finances. We look closely at student behavior and parental support with regard to attendance and adherence to SOBT policies when gauging new/re-issuance of scholarships. As a reminder, scholarship students and parents will be asked to volunteer for SOBT. Students and parents must adhere to school policies in order to retain their scholarship. Noncompliance of SOBT policies can result in reduction or revocation for both need-based and merit scholarships.

Merit Scholarships

Merit scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the School Director. Students and parents should not request this type of scholarship.

Need-Based Scholarships

All SOBT students are invited to request a need-based scholarship. Generally, heavier consideration is given to those families with an adjusted gross income below $50,000.00, although special circumstances are always considered. Scholarship recipients must re-apply each year for the following Annual Session. Need-based scholarship requests for the 2013/2014 Annual Session will be taken after January 2, 2013. Request deadlines have passed and scholarship offerings have already been made for the 2012/2013 Annual Session.
