OBT Exposed at Director Park

OBT Exposed at Pioneer Courthouse Square
Monday, August 25 - Thursday, August 28, 2014 / Times TBA

Once again this summer, OBT is moving our dance studios outdoors to downtown Portland, offering visitors of all ages the opportunity to sneak a peek inside the process of bringing a ballet to life.

We kick off our 25th Anniversary Season with four days of classes and open rehearsals in Pioneer Courthouse Square. See the company's first rehearsals for choreographer Nicolo Fonte's highly anticipated world premiere, and get a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of the perseverance and perspiration of these classically-trained professional dancers.

Other activities throughout the week will include classes for children and adults taught by the School of Oregon Ballet Theatreís esteemed faculty and OBTís Education and Outreach Teaching Artists. All events are completely FREE!

From 1995-2008, Oregon Ballet Theatre presented OBT Exposed in the South Park Blocks of downtown Portland. Each year, these free weeks in the park allowed the public to see the daily regimen of OBTís dancers and artistic staff and enjoy a daily break with the ballet. After a hiatus in 2009 and 2010, OBT Exposed returned in July 2011, moving to Director Park in the heart of downtown Portland. To launch the 25th Anniversary Season in August 2014, OBT Exposed will take over Portlandís living room - Pioneer Courthouse Square.
