Originally from Santa Barbara, California, Chauncey Parsons joined OBT in 2008. He began dancing at age 12 at the Santa Barbara Ballet Center under Denise Rinaldi and in 1997 was accepted into The Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C, where he trained under Vladimir Djouloukhadze until 2000. Prior to joining OBT, he spent five years with Colorado Ballet where he was a principal dancer. He has also performed with The State Street Ballet and The Washington Ballet. Parsons has performed principal roles in Paul Taylor's Company B, George Balanchine's Rubies and Agnes de Mille's Rodeo, among others. He has been featured in works by Twyla Tharp and Christopher Wheeldon, and has danced the role of Albrecht in Giselle and the role of Mercutio in Martin Fredmann's Romeo & Juliet.
